TOP 10 Images Captured on Safari since 2010

2020 has been a very different and difficult year for everyone. The year started with high expectations for South Cape Images as far as increasing the number of safaris we were going to offer. We attended the Travel & Adventure Show in LA in February where we generated great interest but then COVID showed its ugly face and brought everything to a complete standstill. All safaris were postponed to 2021 in the hope that this pandemic would be under control. The new year is around the corner and we need it to be AWESOME in every way and this includes going back to Africa to enjoy the amazing scenery and wildlife . . . This year I am rounding up a selection of the best images captured on safari over the past 10 years . . . LIGHT & DUST - 2019

Captured in Etosha at the Nebrowni waterhole at sunset. A pride of lions were in the area and had several goes at this Black Rhino hence the dust in the air that added texture and drama to this scene. Tired of the annoying lions the rhino started walking towards our vehicle presenting this great photo opportunity. This image was Highly Commended in the 30th Memorial Maria Luisa awards in the Animal World Category.

AMBOSELI SUNSET - 2018

This was truly an epic moment in Amboseli . . . A herd of elephants was marching on the dry Amboseli Lake at sunset. I stopped the vehicle to get out on the ground for a lower angle. This is when they all made a 90º turn and headed into the sun. I knew something special would come out of this

5 LIONS ON A TREE - 2016

Over 3 hours were spent with this extremely entertaining pride of Lions in Lake Masek in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The challenge here was to get them all to look at the camera

A MARA DREAM - 2015

O K A V A N G O - 2013

A truly memorable sunrise that I remember as if it happened yesterday. While on an overland trip from Cape Town to Victoria Falls we chose this spot for our overnight in the heart of the Okavango Delta. I woke up to an amazing sunrise . . . The giraffe was on the far left which was not going to make an amazing image. Lucky me when she started walking straight into position !!
