Open to the western edge of Kruger National Park, south to the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and playing host to Africa's Big Five is Motswari Private Game Reserve. One of South Africa's jewels nestled within the Timbavati Nature Reserve, this family-owned and operated luxury safari lodge prides itself on its warm atmosphere and luxurious accommodation. The name Motswari means "to conserve and protect" in Tswana and the owners have held the name to be a promise to each of their future friends who arrive to share in the splendor of an African sunset at this vintage bush lodge. For more about Motswari click here

A huge Highlight of this photographic safari is The Xakubasa Pride which is the name of the most special pride of lions in the Timbavati, and the name says it all. ‘Basa’ means ‘white’ in Shangaan, and as such Xakubasa is a reference to the two extremely rare and special white lions that are part of this pride that we hope to track, find and photograph. Leopards are abundant in this area so there will be plenty of photographic opportunities. This area is arguably the best place in the world for leopard photography.
